Low Inflammatory Diet

Chronic inflammation has been shown to play a role in diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, Alzheimer’s disease and fatty liver disease.

A low inflammatory diet, high in anti-inflammatory foods and low in pro-inflammatory foods, can help to reduce chronic inflammation in the body, and may have potential to reduce symptoms associated with these diseases.

Western Sydney Local Health District and the University of Sydney are currently undertaking research to test the low inflammatory diet and the effects it has on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The low inflammatory diet may also form part of future research projects looking at its effects on other diseases and conditions.
